As a chef myself, getting a look inside the retro kitchen was an honor. The kitchen, with its 50-year-old stove, was the cleanest I've ever seen. The owner is a rare chef, with decades of knowledge and no willingness to compromise, from breakfast through dinner. She is a real gem, and a classy woman. Everything we ate was the kind of authentic, old-school homemade cooking at its best. They make the bread, jams, and ham themselves, doing it all from scratch, and use produce of the highest quality. Dinner was sublime. Breaded, pan-fried plaice is served all over Skagen, but theirs was on another level. I doubt there's a better one in Denmark. My only regret is not booking a longer stay. We'll be back next year.

This gorgeous place has stayed much as it was in the 70s, which is a good thing. There's no TV in the room, but guests can gather in a common room in the evening, and the kids can play there too. The food is fantastic, and the owners and staff are unmatched for hospitality. It felt like going back to a more relaxed kind of holiday. I'd definitely return if I'm in that part of Denmark again.

The mother and daughter who run this delightful place are genuinely friendly. I had fish dinners that were as good as anything I've ever eaten. I highly recommend them, and I'd gladly return again and again.

We were so glad we stayed here. We booked at the last minute, but now we're going to make it a yearly trip. It was just what we'd hoped for: familiar and friendly, with lovely service, a cozy setting, and excellent food!!!!!
