Oddevej 20 Skagen

A lovely little fishing village.

We won't stay here again. At 3 p.m., one of the two rooms we'd booked was still missing, and Tom didn't answer calls or texts. The voicemail immediately played the opening hours but gave no way to leave a message. After several calls to Check24, where we'd made the booking, and an hour and a half of waiting, I got a text telling us to use room 1. It hadn't been cleaned since the previous guest. More calls to Check24 followed, and at about 5:45 p.m. another text told me to take room 2. That one had been cleaned, but the chemical smell was so strong that airing it out for a long time didn't get rid of it. The night before we left, after our two-night stay, we were sitting outside when Tom came onto the property to do something. We were about three metres away, but he didn't greet us or even look at us before leaving. Given all the trouble when we arrived, I would at least have expected a hello or an apology.

The location worked really well for us, and we were happy with the accommodation. We'd like to return.

A pleasant spot just a short distance from town.
