Plesners Badehotel

The waiters were pleasant, but young and seemed untrained. The service and cocktails were disappointing. They served Hendricks gin with a dry lime, and we had to ask three times for still water.

The breakfast buffet was much better than expected, and the room had a great view. But it was tiny, with nowhere to put luggage or unpack. Reception service was just average. We booked parking with the room, but there are only three spaces at the front and two at the back. That wasn't a major issue since you can park for free nearby, though. It felt far too expensive overall.

The staff made the biggest impression on me. They were warm and individual, always ready to help make the stay special, from suggesting restaurants to eat at and planning trips to sights. Breakfast was a treat, with plenty of freshly prepared food and coffee, and a chance to chat with the staff. Dinner was great too, with lots of dishes, helpful wine suggestions and a wonderful, friendly cook. The rooms are spacious, with a nice sitting area and a big TV, and the bathrooms are modern with excellent showers. This is the best hotel I've ever stayed in. Great food, lovely rooms and truly amazing staff.

I especially recommend the burger, peppersteak and ribeye. At the time I'm writing, they're the best you can get anywhere in Skagen. The fish dishes are also excellent and taste marvelous. This is one of the best restaurants in Skagen, with a lovely atmosphere where you feel good and food that's among the best you can buy here. You can have a good lunch or an excellent dinner indoors or outside. In summer, there's a nice terrace lounge for a cold beer, wine and snacks. Service is excellent and prices are okay. They also have their own pilsner-style beer, 'the Plesner', made especially for the restaurant. I highly recommend it.
