Nørre Vissing Kro

We were even able to bring our dog, who was clearly happy with the peaceful setting and the leftover meat shared by the table next to us. The service throughout felt warm and thoughtful. The kro is lovely inside and out, with an inviting mix of old and modern. At lunch, the three-dish special came on one plate: tasty white fish in mango sauce with frisée and toasted almonds, well-seasoned chicken and mussel paella, and veal loin with spicy ratatouille and a truffle dip like labneh. I wasn't sure what kind of fish it was, but I'd love to find out. The food looked beautiful and portions were just right. I thought it might be too much, but could happily have eaten more of the paella. Afterward came a small cheese board with onion compote and freshly baked bread. Both wines were good, especially the Chardonnay with elderflower notes. The lunch had all the traditional, cozy, polished touches we hoped for, and I'd love to return for the multi-course dinner.

Breakfast was lovely, with plenty of variety and good choices, and the staff were kind. Morten was five-star. It was a big plus that the place welcomes pets. The rooms were quite small and a little dated. We did wait more than an hour for our starters, and by the time the main course arrived we'd kind of lost our appetite.

The service was warm and friendly without hovering, and the food in the hotel's restaurant was amazing. I couldn't rate it any higher.

I was expecting a different standard, but the service was very good and so was breakfast. Dinner was really nice, amazing even.
