We came for dinner only, and really enjoyed the setting. Our seats looked out over the landscape, where we could watch deer grazing in the fields. The food was quite excellent, especially the appetizer. The main course was a letdown, though. It had no garlic or onion, and the deer meat was flavorless. Salt and pepper didn’t help. Maybe my mushroom allergy affected the dish, since mushrooms might have added flavor. I’d suggest the chef find another option for guests with mushroom allergies, such as rams onion/ ramsløg.

The service was friendly, and breakfast was tasty. The hotel has an old-fashioned, picturesque feel and a nice location, about 20 minutes from the highway. The rooms are small and very basic, with no sound insulation at all, and the bathroom urgently needs renovation. For 135€ per night for one person, it wasn’t a great experience. Also, why are Covid measures still in place in the restaurant?

The meals were okay, but the service was poor. The waiters were rude, and asking for more of the “unlimited” wine clearly wasn’t welcome. The room was as basic as it gets and looked like it hadn’t been redecorated this century. The walls were so thin I could hear people breathing as they walked by, and there was also that strange double-use door setup. Sadly, this was still the best part of the stay. I’ve had better cheap overnight stops while traveling.

The food was acceptable, though brunch lacked variety and the eggs weren’t boiled enough. Our double room had the beds separated, one along the left wall and the other along the right. Some colleagues said their rooms smelled bad. I’d give the place just one star.
