The staff were a huge help while I was researching my move to Denmark. We stayed at Frederik for two nights, and I’m grateful for how much they told me. Breakfast and dinner were sublime, too. I’ll definitely use the place again when friends come to visit. Bravo.

I wouldn’t stay here in summer. With no ventilation, the rooms get unbelievably stuffy, and there are no fans. Opening the window brings in a lot of noise from the busy freeway right beside the hotel. People also sit outside beneath the rooms, drinking and talking late into the night, and the rooms are uncomfortable. For a supposed four-star hotel, there are better options in Slagelse.

The staff were chatty, but that was the bright spot. During a heatwave the rooms were stifling, with no fans or air con, and I could hardly sleep. Noise came from other guests and the nearby freeway. The rooms and breakfast were very basic, there’s no elevator, and reception isn’t staffed after 3 pm. I wouldn’t recommend it. Reviews have raised complaints since 2015, yet management hasn’t replied to any of them.

The auditorium worked well for our conference, and most rooms have balconies. They’re neatly arranged, too. A really nice spot for an overnight stay.

The place was clean, but it didn’t feel like a four-star hotel. There was no phone in the room, and staff go home by 10 pm, when everything nearby closes as well.
