Sdr. Omme Kro & Hotel

The room was okay, though the mattresses were too soft, and the bathrooms could use improvement. Breakfast was very good, as was the service in the morning. The summer buffet is a decent dinner choice, but dinner service needs work. Meal times are limited and should be extended during the holiday season. On Saturday we arrived at 8:20 p.m. and asked if they could make an exception and serve two plates for our children, aged 7 and 4. They said no. A little flexibility would've helped, since there aren't many places to eat near the hotel.

The room and bathroom were very clean, and the large bed made for a comfortable night's sleep. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was tasty, though it could get a bit repetitive. Parking was ample and the internet was high speed. One thing missing in my room was a lockable wardrobe or chest of drawers, so during my three-day stay I kept my clothes in a suitcase on the floor.

Breakfast ran from 7 to 9 a.m., which felt too early to us. The room was very warm and had a bad smell, apparently from poor ventilation. Opening the window brought in lots of mosquitoes because the hotel was beside a small river. The shower curtain was very dirty and covered in mold.

The menu is lovely on a normal night. I can recommend the salmon starter, the steak was okay, and the salted caramel ice cream with poached pear was divine. It's a nice place to stay in a small town with plenty there, though the hotel itself is basic. Avoid going when they are voting, because you'll only get pork with potatoes.
