Danhostel Sonderborg City

There was nobody at reception, just some envelopes left on a table where anyone could pick them up. Mine was missing, so I had to wait an hour while they found a solution. Then I got to my room and it was filthy: sticky floors, a spider near the bed, a horrible shower floor, and no sheets or towels. My new room was between two teenagers' rooms where they were partying on a Wednesday. I'll never come back here.

I've stayed here many, many times over the last 20-plus years. The food is fantastic, the rooms are always clean and tidy, and the staff are friendly and welcoming. I truly recommend the hostel.

It's a long way from the centre, which is inconvenient. The rooms are clean, but there's little or no service, like getting shampoo or clean towels each day.

We come on this trip every year, and the rooms are a lovely size for our large group of about 50 people. The healthy food is nice too, with three meals a day. I'll definitely come back.
