The location is why I'm giving it 2/5 stars, and I wouldn't recommend staying here. On arrival, neither the entrance door nor the doorphone worked, so I found the back entrance instead. A group of extremely drunk, impolite guests had taken over the check in phone and were confused by the system. That's not the hotel's fault, but staff should have been there to guide them as they wandered around unsure which rooms were theirs. After getting my key, I found the room smelled bad, and opening the window didn't clear it. The room was generally low-end, with no spare blanket despite the website saying there would be one, just an extremely hot blanket. The bed was far too soft and the pillow uncomfortable. There wasn't even a glass, only soap dispensers; the TV was outdated and there was no electricity by the bed. With the front door broken, the back door had been left open, so anyone could walk in. It felt really unpleasant and unsafe. This is my personal experience with Hotel Garni.

We had a good stay at Hotel Garni. The room was clean and the bed comfortable, and there were lovely places nearby for food and drinks. It's well placed near both the railway station and the town centre.

The location is very good, though I’d look for somewhere with more atmosphere next time. My room was very basic, and there was old food left in the fridge. It may be noisy if you're in a room facing the main road. This was an okay so-called overflow hotel. There are just four free parking spaces, and no electric car charging.

There wasn't any staff available, but the quick check-in and check-out worked okay. The bed was okay too, though the old pillows should have been replaced long ago. Cleaning was quite inadequate. I don't expect much, but I do expect a clean toilet. I'll choose another hotel next time I'm in Svendborg.
