GÆSTEHUSET

It's really in the middle of nowhere, and the rooms are very outdated. My room got extremely hot, so at least a fan would have helped. I didn't see any staff during my stay, and pipes ran through the room, making it obvious whenever someone used water.

Everything was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the owner was very humble. We only stayed one night, but it was such a lovely place that we'd definitely come back.

Across the street there's good parking, a gas station, and a general store. The neighboring church bells ring every half hour until around 11:30 pm, then they're turned down. We found the rooms clean and perfectly adequate for a night. We had hoped for the great breakfast, but it's only available in peak season. Check-in may be tricky if you're not very tech-savvy or have limited language skills, though we managed. The TV wasn't working, but that didn't bother us since we weren't there to watch television.

A new experience, and it worked out well. This is a self-service hotel, so you get a message with your room number, find the key in the lock, and use a code for the main door. That's why I'd give the service only one star.
