Thyborøn Hotel

The fish alone would earn five stars from me. The Kids Menu brings it down by two, though, because the vegetables, asparagus, corn on the cob, and carrots, were completely raw.

The food was delicious and fabulous value for money, and the staff were very friendly. The accommodation was clean and functional, though it could perhaps use an update. Some of the rules felt strange. We were told the restaurant wouldn't be busy the next day and that we didn't need a reservation. But when we arrived at 17:50 with two toddlers, we were told food wouldn't be served until 19:00. It took a while to convince them we needed to eat 😋. All in all, a good place.

We could bring our bikes right into the room, which was perfect for us. The rooms were nice, service was great, and the restaurant was pretty good too. Breakfast was good and it really wasn't expensive.

The only bad part was the tiny sink and badly placed shelf. Washing your face or brushing your teeth means squeezing your head between them and taking care not to hit your eye on the tap. Water, soap, and toothpaste foam all end up on your legs and the floor, which the maid then has to clean. Still, it's a lovely little modern hotel, cozy and clean in the rooms and shared spaces, with friendly staff and free tea and coffee. The area is nice too, close to the aquarium, WWII museum, and port.
