Tylstrup Kro og Motel

It's a quaint inn with a real old-school feel, in a quiet village not far from the highway. The rooms seem a bit dated for the price.

It's one of Denmark's 133 original royal taverns, and the atmosphere really suits the place. Well maintained, with Danish hospitality at its best, and amazing food 👌

We only stayed one night and arrived late, so there wasn't time for a proper restaurant meal. The classic room had a comfortable bed, and the historic pub, restaurant and lobby area were lovely. It's a relaxed place, with a cute little pub and a nice breakfast buffet. The spread wasn't huge or fancy, just continental: fresh rolls and bread, boiled eggs, meat and cheese, jams, yogurt, granola, coffee, tea and juice.

The bed was comfortable, and I slept well, but little else impressed me. At check-in, the person at reception seemed unwelcoming and unsure about customer service, as if he was only there because he had to be. Our room was in awful shape for a cozy inn: holes through both sides of the bathroom door and a dirty carpet. The closet was the best-kept thing in there. Breakfast was a poor buffet the next morning, with half the food plates empty, juice containers left unfilled, and stained tablecloths. This place didn't live up to the reviews, and I won't return.
