We had booked and paid for our stay a year and a half before the national sports gathering in Vejle. Just a few days before we were due to arrive, Elisesminde told us there had been water damage and asked us to cancel, saying the payment might not go through in time. It had already been charged in March 2024. We found somewhere else, then drove past Elisesminde while we were in the area. There were clear signs of guests in all the rooms, and the people on the terrace didn’t look like tradespeople. We’re not saying they lied, but we don’t entirely believe the water damage explanation. It was really poor form to cancel on us after we’d booked and paid so far in advance.

Beautiful views, well-equipped luxury rooms, and a warm welcome. The dishes were good too. I’m already looking forward to coming back.
