There's a trail, but it's so bumpy it could throw your hips out, and otherwise there isn't much to do. The place is nice and the rooms have a quaint feel, but I'm still waiting for the coffee pods that weren't replaced during the cleaning I requested. They call it “wellness,” yet there are no bikes, tennis courts, gym, or wellness smoothies. Bringing your own tissues seems to be a Denmark-wide thing. It's not bad, but it's not great, and there's really not much to do.

Benches along the walking trails make it easy to stop and take in the lovely views of the surrounding grounds. Nørre Vosborg is an enchanting estate, full of history and charm, and a lovely place to unwind, explore, and enjoy the atmosphere.

The location is lovely and set well back from the road, so it was completely quiet. We slept fine in the medium-soft beds. The shower had good pressure and got hot right away. Breakfast was good, though a little more guidance, especially about the coffee, would have helped. We had to ask for boiled eggs and then argue a bit to get them. Who doesn't serve boiled eggs at breakfast? The restaurant was okay, and the food was fine but nothing special. I wouldn't want to eat there two nights running. The NV Tasting listed on Google Maps, which seemed to promise fine dining and was one reason I chose this place, apparently isn't operating. I should have called ahead, so be aware. The young serving staff are keen and friendly, but could use more training and attention to detail. A pen and paper or a POS would help them get orders right the first time. In hot weather, there's no air conditioning or fan. You can open the windows, but there are no mosquito nets, so that's at your own risk. We stayed in a junior suite in the old part of the estate. It was just a bigger room, nothing special, and next time I'd choose a regular room in the newer building instead. Room cleaning has to be requested. We hadn't asked, so the coffee capsules weren't replenished. The reception staff seemed clueless when we asked for more, leaving us without morning coffee on our second day. There's no bottled water in the room, which is a clear minus, and no refrigerator for keeping local food that needs cooling. There isn't a safe for valuables, either, and you can't use apps like Netflix or YouTube or cast content to the TV. Two stars overall, mainly because of all these details. I'd give it 2.5 stars, or 50%, if that were an option.

The staff were warm and friendly, the food was amazing, and I found it incredibly relaxing, with lovely views. After a few years away, I came back and had a wonderful night at this authentic hotel with its rich heritage. It feels like a proper countryside hotel. Just bring what you need, since handy shops are quite far away.

The grounds are wonderful, and you can pay to explore the centuries-old main building on your own. We stayed three nights in an elegant black annex built separately for hotel rooms. Our room had high-quality Danish design furniture and an excellent bed. Breakfast in the manor restaurant was among the best, with good service, and the restaurant was atmospheric at dinner too. Given that quality, I was surprised that the hotel building corridors didn't seem to be cleaned during our stay. There were fallen bird nests and other debris. Room cleaning also isn't automatic. You have to order it the night before, which is an extra hassle compared with the usual “do not disturb” system. The building was purpose-built as a hotel, but still had no proper air circulation. There were lots of mosquitoes at the time, so we couldn't leave the windows or balcony door open, and the room stayed hot from the daytime sun. The slot valve in the balcony door was far too small to ventilate properly, especially since the exhaust valve in the shower room wasn't working as it should.
