Hotel Egeskoven

There was plenty of hot water, but the shower itself didn't work, so I had to use the hand shower. The room was clean and nice, but it was probably around 13 degrees and there was no heat source. I had to keep my coat and shoes on. The TV only got Mid-Western TV, and there was no sound. The big windows looked out at the back of the hotel instead of the lovely forest around it. There was nobody at the hotel, and all communication was by phone.

The homemade buns and jam at breakfast were delicious, and there was plenty of food. The owners were a super sweet, welcoming couple who were keen to help. The rooms were nice and clean, and the outside looked lovely too. It reminded me of a seaside hotel, just without the water view 😂. There's a beautiful forest area nearby and a cosy children's playground in an enclosed garden out front. We'll definitely come back 😁.

It was quite dark when I arrived at 10 pm, and I had some trouble finding my way around. Once I opened the key box, I found a large, bright, lovely room with a nice bathroom and a good bed. I'd heard beforehand that breakfast wasn't great value, so I skipped it and can't comment on it. I'll definitely stay here again when I'm in the area.

I had such a wonderful birthday here. The atmosphere was lovely, the staff were friendly, and the prices were very good. There aren't many allergy-friendly choices, but the gluten- and lactose-free cakes and buns they do have are absolutely delicious. Perfect.
