Ocean Oasis Hotel Dominica

There were a lot of flies, though I suppose that can't be helped. The views were lovely, the food was very good, and service was quick. The drinks were good too.

From the back of the property, the view is beautiful, and the decor throughout is nice. We visited on a day pass that included lunch and a non-alcoholic drink, then ordered a few more drinks at the upstairs bar and by the pool. The staff were very attentive, and I hope that continues after the new-opening excitement fades. We also saw a catamaran on site, though it wasn't available for excursions yet. When we got out of the car, the smell from across the street nearly made us turn around. We'd consider staying overnight once that issue is resolved.

I only visited the restaurant, and it was empty. Just two of the four starters were available, and the main courses were limited to fish or chicken, with no meat or vegetarian option. There was no wine list, just two open bottles, and I wondered how long they'd been open. In my opinion the chips with hummus starter didn't seem freshly made. The main dish had too much cream and was overly salty.

The food was awful, cold, watery, and without flavor. Service was just as bad. I wouldn't eat or stay here.
