The Champs

The dive shop we went with recommended this hotel, and we had a wonderful stay. It's small and quiet, with beautiful views, very friendly staff, and great food. People we dived with who stayed at the Intercontinental spoke poorly of its food and service, so we felt lucky to be here at a much better rate. I'd definitely recommend it.

What made The Champs Hotel special was the attentive, friendly staff, owners included. They were always willing to help. The hotel was clean and well kept, with everything working properly, and its restaurant served excellent food at reasonable prices. They can also help arrange tours and airport transportation. It's a boutique hotel on a hill, so the climb or drive is worth it for the views over the water and town, especially at sunset.

We had no complaints at all. The room was cozy, the view magnificent, and both the food and service were wonderful, with friendly staff and affordable, delicious meals. The experience was so good that we're planning to make Dominica an annual vacation destination, and this hotel is the main reason. We're grateful we found this gem and can't wait to return next year. I spent 9 days on the island across three hotels, including Fort Young, and The Champs was easily my favorite. I arrived around noon, expecting to wait for my room and wondering if I could use the pool, but the room was already ready and they let me check in early. I loved the comfortable room, the hilltop views, the pool that felt like an oasis, and the delicious food available throughout the day. I was sad to leave. I tried booking places the day before and they were full for the weekend, which was my own fault. A couple of days later I realized I'd left a shirt behind. When I went back, an employee returned it and asked about my new hotel and its pool. She remembered how much I love a good pool, and when I said the new place didn't have one, she offered to let me use theirs. So thoughtful. I love The Champs!
