I know booking at the last minute may have made my experience different from most, but I submitted the booking around 7PM, not midnight. I got no reply that evening from any of the three contacts listed in the email for check-in. There was no front desk, just an empty, quiet building, and I stood outside for half an hour trying to find help. I couldn't check in, so I had to cancel and book elsewhere. If I'd had a problem as a guest, it seemed like nobody would have been there to help either. I didn't hear from anyone until 4AM the next day. If same-day bookings can't be handled, that option should be turned off on booking.com.

Hayden and the staff really went out of their way to make my stay great. It's a really good hotel in a great spot, and I'd highly recommend it.

Our little room was just what we needed, clean, cool, and comfortable. The location is central but sits across the river, away from the noisy center, so it was peaceful at night. The showerhead was a bit dodgy and would occasionally fall. Check-in was tricky because there's no desk, so you need to keep the owner updated about your arrival time. Still, they let us check in very early at 10am and check out late at 12pm, and the staff were welcoming and accommodating.

The staff were really good, friendly, and available on WhatsApp for questions. The check-in setup needs work, though. We waited an hour after our agreed meeting time, and other guests said they'd waited longer. The neighbor called the staff for us and apparently does that regularly, so be ready for a wait. It's on the edge of town overlooking the city and river, near the cricket ground. This isn't an inn or an elegant place, just a budget room with a microwave, fridge, kettle, and en suite bathroom. The rooms could use some modernization.

The place was safe, quiet, and exceptionally clean, beyond what I expected. It's right downtown, within walking distance of everything, and the price is very reasonable. The rooms have all the necessities. The staff were professional and friendly, and I got to meet the dedicated, welcoming owners. I'll definitely come back. Highly recommend. ❤️
