The breakfast mangú, made from green plantain, has milk mixed in to make it easier to swallow, so be careful if you have lactose issues. My room's windows were filthy, which could be a problem for people with allergies. The bed was tiny, smaller than a full, and seemed suitable for just one person. The hotel was very expensive, and the location was noisy.

The pool area looked especially cool at night, with lighting that gave it a nice feel. I wish I'd taken a picture. The pool itself looks brand new, and the grounds are well cared for. Food was delicious, especially the mixed mofongo, and there are four tasty breakfast choices. The staff deserves ten stars. They also have excellent conference facilities, with one large salon and a few smaller spaces. I had a great stay at Montemar and highly recommend it.

We got a balcony upgrade at no extra charge, and the price was excellent. Parking on the side felt fairly secure, and the internet worked well in the room, which is rare in many Dominican hotels. The gym was pretty good too. The room was fairly large, newer, and clean. Staff were friendly and helpful, though they only speak Spanish. There's construction going on now, so the pool can't be used, but the beach is a couple of miles away. The hotel is just on the edge of Azua, near convenience stores and gas stations. This is the best hotel we've stayed at in the D.R.

Back for my second stay, and I'll come again. The room had nice, cold AC, the service was amazing, and breakfast and the pool were both perfect. A happy stay.

The staff were all so friendly and helpful, and Luis deserves a special mention. The continental breakfast was disappointing, and the hotel itself didn't feel worth the price, but the service made up for it. Thanks again from the French tourists. ☀️
