There are plenty of shops and places to go nearby, including mini-marts, money changers, cigar shops, barbers and hair salons, restaurants, bars, and clubs. Parking is available both on and off the street. The pool you use belongs to the new hotel or apartments the owners are building across from this property. I think each room has its own Wi-Fi device, and the AC units are new. My room had a mini-fridge and two complimentary bottles of water. There was also a safe, though I never figured out how to open and program it. I moved out of my first room because its bathroom PVC ceiling was sagging. In the new room, the Wi-Fi device didn't work properly, so I had to connect to the neighbors' network. The shower pressure kept changing, which made the temperature fluctuate. Worst of all, the tap water smelled like sulfur. At first I thought it might be the water heater, but the smell was still there with cold water only. The hotel is old but kept up reasonably well. It's relatively inexpensive for Bavaro / Punta Cana, the most expensive town in DR, so I wouldn't expect five-star accommodations at this price.

I needed somewhere quick for myself and a few technicians working on my condo, and this place was better than I expected. The staff try their best, and a few ants didn't bother me much. I had everything I needed in the room except enough towels, so I picked up some extras for my stay. The nearby beach was great. I took a local moto taxi there for 150 pesos each way, and the restaurants were fairly decent. You can book it if you're after a local experience.

We ended up here because an approaching snowstorm forced us to rebook our trip, and our original hotel had no room for the extra night. It worked out well. Breakfast was a pleasant surprise: the room price included a decent sandwich, eggs, juice, and coffee. I hadn't booked this as a vacation spot, and my expectations were incredibly low, so the place did better than I thought.

The reception was very helpful, and when I was nervous about going out alone at night because the market area felt unsafe, the security guard walked with me to a nearby market to get a snack. The location is great for Bavari beach, with Princess resort right across the front and restaurants within walking distance. They provide bottled water for free. But ants were crawling on my bed and clothes, and there was no hot water in the bathroom.

For about 2200 pesos, or $44 USD, the rooms are satisfying for the price. Some have a safe for valuables. There were hot showers, cool AC, and clean sheets. An okay stay for the money.
