Hotel Checkin El Cortecito

The rooms are a nice size, with balconies, and generally clean. The beach is a 10-minute walk, and the bank, currency exchange, and tourist SIM card shop are 3 minutes away on foot. The staff were helpful when I was first given a room that hadn’t been cleaned, and they fixed that right away. The next room smelled of mold and had a broken AC. I asked to move to another room with working AC the following morning, but was told maintenance would repair it and that moving wasn’t needed. I waited 2-3 hours, but maintenance never came, so I didn’t stay any more nights.

The location is good, close to both the beach and a supermarket, but there’s no kitchen and the bathrooms need attention. Breakfast was mediocre, and the hotel could use a makeover.

The staff were great, and I’d definitely stay again if I’m in the area. My room was spacious, neat, and had plenty of lights. The bed was clean and really comfortable. The bathroom was clean too, though it could be improved. My one issue was that there was no hot water 😮‍💨. Nothing out of the ordinary, but a good place to stay.
