If you’re considering buying here to rent short term, don’t. Short-term renters are treated a bit like prisoners. They can’t have guests at any time, even to sit with them on the beach chairs when plenty are empty. And once the guest finishes eating at the public beachfront restaurant, they have to leave. As my guest was being escorted away, two other groups said the rules were ridiculous and that we were kind of like prisoners.

We stayed at Playa Turquesa for 9 days in May, and it was wonderful. The weather was sunny all day, every day. The condominium complex was very well cared for, with clean beaches and no seaweed. A tractor cleaned the beach at least twice a day, and security was present throughout the complex, so we felt very safe. The pools were large and clean, and all the staff were friendly. We had lots of fun conversations with them. You can book excursions just outside the condo. Go through the beach gate, turn left, and look for the guys in white shirts in front of SoHo Beach restaurant. They have great prices. If you’re hungry, there are lots of restaurants on the beach and just outside the condo gate. We liked Terra Negra and LaBruja. There’s also a supermarket two minutes from the complex gate, with everything you need at good prices, and a pharmacy three minutes away on foot. Highly recommend Playa Turquesa, a little piece of paradise on Earth.

We love coming back to Playa Turquesa every year. It’s very relaxing, clean, and safe, and the location is just right, with plenty of restaurants and shops within walking distance.

Security staff were friendly, and most people we encountered seemed nice. But the man at the front desk was awful to me during check-in. We had several negative interactions with people working in tourism around Bávaro, and it left me feeling that English-speaking visitors aren't welcome in Punta Cana.

We booked our place through Airbnb and had a great stay from arrival to departure. Even during the busy Easter holidays in 2019, the resort never felt packed. The pools were sparkling clean, and the beachside bar was just what we needed for a perfect break. It's not all-inclusive, so you get what you pay for, though we got more than we expected. The adults and little kids in our group all loved it. Residents can walk straight through to the shopping and restaurant area just outside the resort, and there are banks there too. Excursions also depart from that parking lot.
