Presidential Suites Self Catering Punta Cana

We were seven in the family and felt comfortable the whole time in our spectacular three-bedroom apartment. It was clean and neat, just as I expected. Lunch at the restaurant was amazing, with really good food and very kind waiters and waitresses. The beach was crystal clear and the pool was good. Because of COVID-19 restrictions, and maybe changing occupancy levels, they couldn’t offer all-inclusive service. I’d rate the experience very good.

UPDATE: Resort management responded quickly. They brought us cookware and silverware, and fixed the problems we mentioned, including the toilet in the suite. Thank you! We’d only just arrived with the family, and although the resort location seemed very nice, the accommodations were surprisingly poor. There were no plates or utensils in the kitchen, and one suite toilet didn’t work. Since we couldn’t use the kitchen, we ate at Kimonos. The food was excellent and the prices very reasonable, but we waited more than 90 minutes after ordering, with no explanation. The restaurant wasn’t very busy, and other tables were also talking about the long wait. It was really frustrating. Maybe things will improve tomorrow, and if so, I’ll update the review.

We stayed the last week of Jan. '17. The room was really nice, with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. We kept the AC and fans running the whole time to block out the music. The staff were friendly. We had a safe in the room for cash, and you should bring lots of ones for tips because nobody can give you change. The beach is beautiful and the resort seems to be one of the best around. Staff at the beach bar were always friendly and accommodating, and tipping well helps. The buffet food was okay, but it left us feeling bloated and blah, though we weren’t sick. I read that Dominican food can make some Americans feel a bit off, perhaps because of the spices or oils. We were glad to get back to “normal” food, and I don’t just mean fast food. We took a regular taxi to and from the resort, $78 for two people, both ways.
