The pools were gorgeous, with both saltwater and freshwater options, and the hotel is on the coast. The nearest beach still takes a short bus ride to reach. Staff were generally friendly and helpful, though some don’t speak English very well, which isn’t a criticism. Getting around on foot is possible: small shops and restaurants are about 10-15 minutes to the right when you leave the hotel, while Bayahibe is around a 30-minute walk along the sandy path to the left. Food was a bit hit or miss for me. There wasn’t much for vegetarians, though maybe that’s to be expected in the Dominican Republic. Breakfast had very few cereals, mostly the less healthy sort, but there was usually a good selection of fresh fruit. The rooms were only average. They had decent space, but not enough drawers or shelves for our things. The hotel itself was really nice, though, so I’m torn between giving it three or four stars. It was nice enough, but I’m not sure I’d return.

The à la carte meals were amazing, and I especially appreciated the delicious food, clean rooms, and well-kept resort grounds. Some employees were genuinely kind, including Mrs. Dolorez M. in the dining area, Dariel B. at the bar, and the unnamed gentleman who drove us by shuttle to the beach. A few staff members treated English-speaking guests noticeably worse and seemed to favor Spanish-speaking tourists. That didn’t stop us from enjoying our vacation, though. I came away with a positive impression and would be glad to return someday.

We came in mid February 2026 and had a relaxing stay, just what my partner and I needed. Would I go back? Probably not, since I like trying new hotels and experiences. I would recommend it, though, as long as expectations are realistic. The food won’t blow your socks off, the evening entertainment is okay, and getting here from punta cana takes 45 minutes, which could feel like a lot after a 9-hour flight. Still, if my choices were limited, I’d return because the price was reasonable. We mostly ate dinner at the buffet, where the food was hot and there was plenty of variety. There are four other evening restaurants to choose from: one has a sushi style, which I didn’t enjoy but my partner did. margarita, the host, was kind and attentive, but a little too pushy about getting us to review the restaurant. We skipped the two places that required bookings after reading reviews beforehand. At lunch, you can switch between the main buffet, food truck, and poolside snack bar. All three were pretty good, and the food quality was decent. We often took an Uber into Bayahibe for dinner, but watch out for scams: one driver tried to get £1200 from us. Breakfast starts at 0730, too late for me as an early riser. Even 0700 would’ve suited me better. The selection looked broad, but somehow felt pretty much the same each day. One nice surprise: neither my partner nor I got bitten by mosquitoes, and I didn’t notice anyone else with bites either. Could be the time of year. And if you go, please leave the cats a cup of water.

We’re both in our mid 70s, and I can’t walk far because of a nerve problem in my spine. That made the location limiting for me, since the local shops and Bayahibe were out of reach. Other guests said the area felt safe and enjoyed exploring. My wife had a recurrence of an underlying health problem, unrelated to the hotel. Mabel helped us by taking her to the doctor at the pharmacy on site. She’s often at the desk to the left of main reception, and her name is pronounced “Mabell.” We moved rooms because our first one was near the entertainment and too noisy for us, as we turn in fairly early. We went from block 3 to block 6 by reception, which worked great. Our standard room was clean and adequate, with a comfortable king-size bed and a good shower. Nothing special, but fine for us. Staff were friendly, bar service was good, though there wasn’t much seating. The buffet and Alma were the only places we ate, and I’d recommend them. Food was generally good with lots of choice, but mine was lukewarm rather than hot a couple of times. The pool area was pleasant, though guests were allowed to reserve sunbeds, so get up early. Snorkeling from the ladder was okay, but I struggled to grip it getting back out. The local beach was very busy. You can hire a bed and shade there, but it’s expensive at 2000PD, about £12/$16. We booked trips either through our rep or a man at reception. We went to Catalina and Saona islands, and Saona was far better. There are also more adventurous and cultural excursions. We brought DP in cash, but reception wouldn’t exchange it, which caused a problem. Local shops are probably a better option. Avoid the pharmacy shop for snacks: two small bags of jelly sweets and a large bag of Lays cost 800PD. For us, it was good value but not the best fit. If we’d been fitter, we would have returned. Hope this helps, and have a great time!

The location was a real plus for us: La Romana Airport is only about 15 minutes away, so there was no long bus ride after our flight. My partner and I spent a week here and had a great time. The rooms and resort were clean, modern, and well maintained. We could’ve used more drawers, but it wasn’t a big deal. We liked the different dinner themes each night, and there was plenty to do, along with fun entertainment. Wi-Fi in the rooms was weak, but it worked well around the resort. With those views, we weren’t looking at our phones much anyway. Great value for the price, and I’d definitely stay here again.
