Aparta Hotel Azzurra

It was peaceful inside, with soft music playing even though lively bars and restaurants are nearby. The room was roomy and clean, with a comfortable bed and plenty of closet and drawer space.

The room we were moved to had a broken kitchen, toilet, and TV, no hot water, a cockroach in the kitchen, and damaged furniture. It shouldn't be rented in that condition. My parents and I were initially grateful when the owner upgraded us to a room that would accommodate me, but things changed when we raised these problems. He got extremely irate and spoke to us rudely, as though we were beneath him because he had done us a favor by upgrading us. There's a reason the reviews are mixed. The owner treats customers differently, and the way he treats his workers doesn't seem humane or civil. It was a horrible experience.

The room was spotless and had AC, hot water, a fan, and a balcony. The shower had great water pressure, which is rare in the Dominican Republic. Jhoan was a big help from the minute we arrived, and breakfast was included and solid. I didn't use the pool, though it looked nice. We had a wonderful stay and would absolutely return.

We showed up at 5 in the morning, exhausted from our flight, and someone was there to check us in without any trouble. Even though we'd missed the usual breakfast time when we got up later, they still made us waffles, fruit, and juice. We only stayed one night, but it was a really good experience, especially for such a low price.
