Problems get dealt with as quickly as they can. For example, the water was turned off for repairs one day and came back around 10 pm. Most of the staff are good. In my experience, this is the best hotel available in Boca Chica right now, though the standard there is pretty low. Frio Hot next door doesn't compare.

There’s no gym, pool, or other amenities, and the beach wasn't good. I found insects in the food, and breakfast choices were very limited. They were very greedy and tried to charge me by anyways. Not recommended.

I called the property manager the day before booking and asked whether the office was open 24 hours. The English-speaking office manager said it was. I booked a weekend stay for 05/02/25 - 05/05/25, but when I arrived at 4 AM on Saturday, the property and front office were closed and nobody was there. I couldn't get in or stay there, so I had to find another hotel and had nowhere to go from 4 AM until they opened. I called around 9 that morning to report the problem and ask for a refund for Saturday and Sunday. The woman who helped said I'd have to speak to the office manager, who wouldn't be there until Monday. Expedia tried to resolve it, but the manager refused to refund me. I had called ahead because of the Saturday check-in, and I never stayed on the property. I even offered to change the dates and push the stay out, but I was still charged after being told it was a 24-hour operation. I feel I should have been refunded. Who's right and who's wrong here?

I've stayed here many times and left several positive reviews, but my experience today changed that. I arrived without a reservation at 1:15 PM. The front desk girl said there were several rooms available, and we agreed on the price and the room I wanted. When I went to pay, she said check-in wasn't until 3 PM and asked for another $20 to let me in early. Instead, she seemed fine with me booking a room at the hotel next door for the same $75. It wasn't her money, and she didn't seem to care about the owner's bottom line or customer service. The place next door let me into an empty room right away and didn't try to squeeze another $20 out of me. I won't be back.
