Hostel Laguna Park

I was the only paying guest, and the place felt really run down. I didn’t stay even one night. The pool was green, the room fans didn’t work, the bathrooms had no toilet paper, and after a full day exploring I came back to a flooded bathroom. The outdoor area shown in the pictures barely has any seating, and its ceiling has caved in. During the tour, I was told someone would come clean the pool. That didn’t happen. The only person I saw working on it was a volunteer who lived there, using a net to pull out debris while the water was still green. It needs a professional cleaning. I was sorely disappointed, the vibes were just low, and I wouldn’t recommend it.

Room 11 really made my stay at Laguna Park Cabarete. It was spacious and nicely designed, with two comfortable double beds pushed together, plus a private kitchen, bathroom, and balcony. The staff were exceptionally friendly and knew a lot, and their different backgrounds added to the experience. I enjoyed my time here so much that I can’t wait to return. Laguna Park Cabarete is a hidden gem, and I’d happily recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable hostel stay.

For my wife and me, this place was exactly what we needed between exploring around town. We wanted somewhere to sleep and shower, then head out for the day. There’s a pool and a shared kitchen for guests, and it’s in a gated community, which makes the location feel ideal. If you’re used to resorts and all-inclusive hotels, this isn’t that kind of stay.

Room 11 was large and lovely, with two double beds pushed together and its own kitchen, bathroom, and balcony. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and came from all sorts of backgrounds. We had a great stay and would gladly return.
