The staff were fantastic, quick to communicate, and the location felt safe and peaceful. We stayed in penthouse 301b, which had a great layout, lots of room, and five bathrooms. But some basics still need work. There was no gym, and neither a washer nor a dryer in the unit or anywhere on site, which is a big drawback for a beach penthouse. The bathrooms barely had anywhere to hang towels, water pressure was very low, and on some days the water was only lukewarm. Some closets were missing a hanging bar. The AC was great everywhere except the children’s room, where it didn’t work. The balcony doors had no handles and wouldn’t close. The elevator up to the apartment was convenient, but we couldn’t lock it. We had a code, though staff had it too. The owners might consider giving guests a private code and letting staff enter through the locked front door.

We loved the quiet beach, and the pool was fantastic too. The resort was clean, with kind staff who were happy to help. Restaurants along the beach are an easy walk away. We had a lovely stay at Ultravioleta.

We’ve been visiting for the past few years, but the service and upkeep have declined a lot. Cockroaches on the walls were a bit disgusting, and maintenance around the property has really fallen off. We won’t be back. The office staff are friendly, but seem to be new all the time, and as a result they don’t know much. We tried to book directly, as we’ve done for years, but were told to use Expedia, which cost us hundreds of dollars more.

The property was clean, the beach was nice and hassle-free, and the stay was great. They also gave us good transportation information and took care of everything we needed. We loved our time at ultravioletta.

The beach setting is a real highlight, with beautiful sunsets, swimming, walks, and kite lessons available right on the hotel beach. The area is relaxed and quiet, though restaurants and bars are nearby. The restaurant serves a basic Caribbean beach menu, and the service was excellent. I loved the fresh fruit smoothies. I wasn’t keen on the music at the beach restaurant myself, since I’d rather hear the wind and waves, but most guests seemed to like it. That’s just personal taste. Our room was clean, spacious, comfortable, well equipped, and thoughtfully laid out. The staff were polite, quick to respond, and always ready to help with a smile. The location is hard to beat. We loved our stay and are already looking forward to returning.
