B&B Mi Hogar Jarabacoa

The house and room were very nice, and the owners built the place after coming from Italy. Meals were a treat too, both breakfast and dinner tasted great. Mi Hogar Jarabacoa sits in a guarded neighborhood, so it felt very safe. Bring your own car for getting around. The mountain views are amazing.

We didn't stay and lost our deposit, but at least we weren't treated in such an offensive way again. We were a couple in our early 50s and tried to reason with them, without getting anywhere. When we asked to stay one night instead of three, they wanted half of the remaining amount. The rules only arrived by email the day before we were due, after they'd taken 50% upfront, and they said they wouldn't refund for any reason. One rule said we couldn't bring in or consume any food or drinks that weren't bought on site. The property is 4 km from town, so that left their restaurant as the only option, and it was quite expensive for DR. Also, despite being advertised as offering vegetarian options, the restaurant is actually vegetarian only. They seemed to assume we'd get drunk and trash the house, which felt insulting and rude. Watch out for rules that aren't apparent when booking.

The hosts were excellent, the scenery was lovely, and the rooms were good. The pasta was excellent too!

I really enjoyed the peaceful spot where the cabin is located. It was a lovely place to get away from noise and spend time forest bathing. Claudio and his wife were wonderful hosts.
