Jarabacoa River Club

The staff were wonderful, and breakfast was excellent. The sheets were very clean, too. The facility itself was in terrible shape, though. The room was a disaster, and the pool was gross; the pretty grounds need immediate upgrades. The desk clerk was a poor girl trying to explain away how awful the room was. Management should be ashamed to rent out a place in that condition. I’d hire the whole staff in a minute, but the property needs a top-to-bottom remodel and more security. I felt unsafe at night, although thankfully nothing happened. Staff: 10. Facility: minus 10.

The views, quiet, and location were great, and the room was comfortable, though it didn’t feel fully secure. Cleaning was consistently on point, with staff checking whether we needed anything, even if service was slow. The pools stayed cold, which felt nice in the heat but not on cloudy days. It also seemed like there was an issue with the heater: hot water in the room took about 10 to 15 minutes to come through.

The nights were beautiful and almost magical, especially when the sky was full of stars. The views, river, town, weather, and people all make this a wonderful spot for couples or families, and pets are welcome too. The accommodation is very affordable for such a special place, although the menu prices are quite high. Also, the only drinking water available is what they provide in the room.

The rooms are a bit old, but there’s nothing wrong with them. It’s so peaceful here, and the staff are the best, always ready to help. I really love this place and will definitely come back.
