Rancho Baiguate

The rafting was a blast, though it's fairly intense and takes some physical effort. Our guides explained the commands clearly and came across as professional. Pickup from the hotel was included, along with breakfast and lunch buffets. If you're in Jarabacoa, rafting here is worth considering. They have a solid setup and the price is good.

We came for rafting, not to stay overnight, and the grounds were beautiful. After a night of rain the river was exciting, and rafting made for a great rainy day. If it's cool and wet, leggings are a good idea. Water shoes would help, or just wear old tennis shoes.

The best part was all the activities they arrange. I tried white water rafting and rode a horse to a waterfall, and both were great and well organized. Prices with everything included were reasonable. The room was clean and functional, the food decent, the internet worked well, and there was a swimming pool. It was also nice to have cooler weather than in Cabarete. Very nice place, highly recommend.

The hotel grounds and gardens were gorgeous, full of flowers and vegetation. I wish I had more time to relax on the patio or by the pool. We came for a Pico Duarte hike, which they organized extremely well, and adapted everything to our schedule and needs. They picked us up at the bus station in nearby Jarabacoa, gave us a simple but lovely room with very comfortable beds and a great shower, and included all meals. The buffet had plenty of variety and was delicious. Our guide spoke excellent English, knew the trail well, and coordinated the miles and country guides smoothly. The whole trip felt safe and efficient. They even arranged safe, tasty hiking meals for our food allergies.
