The apartment is modern, clean, and has a fantastic view. The staff are so nice, and I think this was the best choice I could have made. There aren't tourist crowds this time of year, the beach is really private, and you can swim and snorkel. There are nice restaurants nearby too. If I'd known earlier how horrible traffic is in the Dom Rep, especially in the capital, I'd have stayed in this area the whole time. You need a car, though, and as a European you need very strong nerves on the road. I've visited the most famous beaches, but none was like the one Aqua Loft offers.

At 8 in the morning we were woken by drills, and the noise carried on all day. You're expected to be out of the apartment from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM because of their work rule, so you have to spend the day elsewhere. The front desk people were rude and told us that was their policy and they wouldn't change it. The guest service during the day was very bad. If you're planning a relaxing vacation spent in the apartment all day, this isn't the place for you.

Expect noise from the security staff starting at 5:00 AM. They test motorcycles for hours, move things around very loudly, and talk about how little money they make. Bring earplugs.

It's still the same years later, with thoughtful attention from everyone who works here. Just as peaceful and relaxing as you'd imagine. Come to get away and unwind.

The best of Juan Dolio. It's peaceful and everyone is super attentive. Love this place, I've been back several times. The staff are superb, the food is great, and it's so tranquil.
