I toured an apartment as a possible rental and really liked the place. The pool and beach are excellent, the grounds and shared areas are kept up very well, and the gate guard made it feel secure. Very nice place.

There were no chairs enough for everyone, and towels at the beach and pool were a mess. I stayed with friends, but it wasn't what I expected. For a week I had no hot water, and the power went out a couple of times while I was there. The crowd also bothered me. It seemed like a lot of older European men were renting there to bring in young Dominican women. Gross. And there are so many French people around, it feels like a little Montreal.

Res. Abdimar is magnificent, though I'm almost reluctant to say so in case word gets out and we lose some of what we like about it. There are around 40 units, and everyone has an ocean view. The beach is great, the pool is excellent, and there are plenty of sun beds and char-grills. It's gated, with 24/7 security and off-street parking. We'll definitely be back next winter.

It's very private and quiet on weekdays, though weekends are the opposite. That doesn't bother me, and the employees are nice. The building has a large pool, two BBQs, and beachfront views. Across from it there's a mini market and a local restaurant serving the best cachapas venezolanas I've ever eaten! There are lots of spots by the beach for scuba diving, more than six.
