Sybaris Residences

I live close enough to walk here and have eaten at this restaurant nearly a dozen times, but the service has been terrible. Everything takes an hour. On my last visit, I ordered chicken fingers for my children and got pieces of chicken breast instead. When I asked why they weren't breaded, I was told they had forgotten. I asked if they could make them again, and they refused. They said I still had to pay because the food had already been prepared, even after I asked whether there would be a discount. I politely asked to speak with the manager and was told to go up to the bar. I could see her there eating hard-boiled eggs. Her name is Esther. She said I had to return the plate immediately or be charged. I explained that I had returned it and asked for a remake, but the staff had said no. She then said she wouldn't charge me for the plate, but that my children and I couldn't come back because the restaurant was only for people renting in Sybaris. I was surprised, since we'd been civil up to then, and asked why. Esther said Sybaris had nothing to do with Guavaberry, that the restaurant was for hotel guests, and that they'd only let me in as a neighbor. When I asked if this was because I'd complained about the chicken, she said no, I had never been allowed there in the first place, then turned and left. I'm not sure why Esther became so abrasive and downright rude. It was a very dramatic reaction to a complaint about chicken fingers. It's unfortunate that the place is run so poorly. I've come with other families from Brisas and casa de Lagos because, apart from the club house, it's the only place inside Guavaberry to get coffee. I recommend that everyone avoid this overpriced, rude restaurant.
