The Hope Plaza

I stayed here for several weeks and tried to make the best of the inconveniences. The walls were dusty enough to make me sneeze, especially at night, the floor wasn't very clean, and the pots were well used and poorly maintained. Neighbors partied most nights, and we could hear them in the apartment. The security was good, and the workers, including the maid, were great. We kept the place clean during our long stay and cleaned before leaving. I felt the “owners” looked at us differently because of our skin colour and because we didn't appear rich. The beach wasn't as “clear,” though the view from the top of the building was great. At first I planned to recommend the place and left a decent review. But after I left, the owner contacted me to complain about pots and pans that were already visibly worn when I arrived. We had washed the dishes and cleaned the home as best we could. If the cookware mattered so much, the owner should check its condition whenever guests arrive and leave, since it already showed wear and tear. That wasn't good service. I wouldn't recommend the place. Very rude and inappropriate.

We never actually had our stay here, so I can't rate the accommodation itself. When we arrived, we discovered we had been assigned a different hotel. The operator had put us somewhere else without telling us. We got another hotel for the same price, but it was at a totally different level. I can't recommend this to anyone. That was very unprofessional.
