The room was pretty average, but everything else more than made up for it. The location was great, breakfast fantastic, and Remi was a big help when I needed to get a bag repaired. I stayed a couple of years ago and found the price reasonable.

What bothered us most was the staff's attitude. They were consistently unfriendly and impolite, and often answered in a rough, unhelpful way. On departure, staff made comments that we felt were racist. That was unacceptable and left a shadow over the whole stay. We also couldn't store our luggage for a few hours after checkout, which forced us to change our plans for the last day. Breakfast wasn't provided to everyone in our party, and the issue wasn't dealt with properly, so we had to make other arrangements. We were also told we couldn't play quiet music by the pool, which felt overly restrictive for a relaxing holiday. These experiences made our stay in the Dominican Republic disappointing and distressing, and unfortunately spoiled our vacation. I'm sharing this so future travelers know what happened and the hotel management can address these concerns. Guests should be treated with respect and welcomed.

The owner’s treatment of guests weighed heavily on my review. We politely asked to leave our luggage until the afternoon so we could enjoy the day, as people commonly do at hotels. He said that apparently “only the people from your country” ask for this, then told us to find another solution in the rudest, most aggressive way I’ve encountered in a situation like this. I hope he was just having a bad day and hasn’t behaved this way throughout the “20+ years” he says he’s run the hotel. Otherwise, you may want to look for somewhere else in this beautiful area. The hotel itself is OK and very close to the beach, but for the price it lacks some basics, including good water pressure and proper ventilation or air conditioning.
