I stayed at Piedra Marron over Christmas for two weeks, from December 2019 to Jan 2020. The location was convenient for the beach, shops, and restaurants, and my studio was comfortable, with a kitchen and air conditioning. The hotel was very clean, and the innkeepers, Vita and Vito, were friendly and helpful. Being so central does mean some road noise, but all things considered, it was a pleasant stay and excellent value for money. I’d definitely recommend it.

I was mainly after somewhere to sleep for the night, and this worked perfectly. The beach, restaurants, and tourist area are roughly a two-minute walk away. The owner was accommodating, and the room had a small fridge, hot water, WiFi, and parking. There’s no AC, but the ceiling fans are right above the bed and a nice breeze comes through, so I slept comfortably. The window coverings also keep mosquitoes and other bugs out.

The owners make you feel at home, they’re such lovely hosts. It’s a beautiful, comfortable place, only a few steps from the beach and town center. We had a great experience!

The room was comfortable and had a small fridge, cooktop, flat screen TV with grainy analog channels, and a shower with decent pressure and properly hot water. I was lucky to get one of the two rooms with AC for $40 a night. The wooden shutters, which aren’t glass windows, helped keep out some of the noise from the motos going by at all hours. It’s a nice budget hotel on the main road, easy to find, with fenced, gated parking. The beach is about a 10-minute walk away.

Shakira, the hotel manager, was really helpful, as was Vito, the owner. Vito even drove us to the bus terminus himself.
