Puerto Plaza Hotel & Shops

Our group at Brents Tours really appreciated the accommodations and the care from the staff. The hotel is beautiful, and the rooms are among the nicest I've stayed in across Latin America.

The apartment overlooking the beach was roomy and comfortable, and the location is one of a kind. There can be a lot of noise outside from four-wheelers, motorcycles, and beach bars.

We found Puerto Plaza ideal for getting around. Restaurants are an easy walk, Sirena supermarket is a short drive away, and you can rent four-wheelers or scooters just outside. We negotiated $50 for a quad for 7 hours, which made it a great way to explore. The apartments have a full living room, kitchen, and one or two bedrooms, with spacious rooms, good showers, and a private balcony hot tub. There are two pools on the third floor, plus a bar. The staff at reception were excellent, and the place felt safe and secure. Prices are good, with a 10% discount for paying cash and another 10% if you book directly instead of through a third-party app. It worked perfectly for us.

My family and I were locked out on the balcony with other guests on our first night, unable to get back into our room. We called over and over until 2 AM, but no one answered, and the security guard ignored us and never came back to see if we were all right. We ended up sleeping on a couch in someone else's room, like strangers. It felt frightening, unsafe, and careless. After such a stressful and traumatic experience, they refunded just one night, when much more should have been done. Truly disappointing.
