Casa del Sol Hotel Luperon

I stayed here years ago and came back to a place that’s still small, clean, and intimate. The English speaking staff are excellent, the food is good, and there’s a resident chef. I liked the comfortable restaurant and the intimate bar inside. Great experience for a very good price. See attached.

The restaurant and bar are right on site, and the food was really tasty. It’s only 1-2 minutes from town and about 7 minutes by bicycle to Luperon beach. The place was inexpensive and clean, everything worked well, and the staff were nice. I’m glad I chose to stay here.

I know the owner very well and have seen how sincerely she cares about both guests and employees. She’s always looking for ways to improve Casa Del Sol. I’ve been coming for 7.5 years, and the location in Luperon is the best, with good food, friendly people, and every kind of drink you could want. If you’re in Luperon, this is where you should stay and enjoy the food. Maybe you’ll see me there.

*This review is only for the restaurant.* We came back for breakfast the next morning. The vegetable tortilla eggs were undercooked again, though the pancakes were cooked through. The day before, at 11am on a Tuesday in February 2020, the 150 RD$ tortillas (omelets) were decent, but the eggs in the vegetable omelet weren’t fully cooked. The home-fry-like potatoes on the side were okay. The 150 RD$ panqueques (pancakes) also weren’t evenly cooked through. We thought the choice of “miel” (honey) or eggs and bacon was odd, and chose miel in case it meant real honey. It turned out to be fake maple syrup. The atmosphere was pleasant and the waitstaff were nice. I was told the wooden chairs aren’t comfortable, so I was glad we sat in the plastic resin ones. We returned for dinner that same night and took out mero fish in salsa “bretona” with garlic, onions, and peppers for 250 RD$. It was delicious, as were the mashed potatoes for 80. The broccoli and carrots, about 80 RD$, were decent too.
