I've stayed here on every Monte Cristi visit with my husband and recommended it to everyone, but after this I'm done booking here. I reserved and paid in advance for ten days before Semana Santa. Two days before I was due to arrive from the USA, staff texted to say the rooms weren't available and apologized. They should have given me more notice and tried to help find somewhere else. They know hotels fill up at that time of year, and I was left scrambling for a place to stay. I'm very disappointed, and the staff seemed uneducated. I couldn't get management to respond either. Ridiculous business.

There are a lot of construction workers staying here, and it's a bigger hotel with a 3-star rating, but I think it's worth it. It has what you need for a comfortable stay: a huge shower, a fine bathroom, good TV, air conditioning, and a bed that works well for a couple or someone staying alone. The rooftop pool is on level 5 and has a beautiful view of El Moro and the sea near the city. Bring your own drinks. Find out for yourself!

The rooms are truly spotless. The pool wasn't operating because of the rainy season. They could use more staff in the social area, and there should be waiters at breakfast.
