The A/C was quiet and worked great, and the breakfast was pretty decent. The pool area was okay, but the place was seriously overpriced. Towels were the bare minimum, and there were none at the pool. I asked for some, but they never brought them. The safe was locked, and the front desk never opened it after I asked. There was no iron or board, hair dryer, or magnifying bathroom mirror. The desk light bulb was out, and I didn't bother asking for a replacement. The shower doors were installed wrong, so the bathroom floor got very wet.

I stayed here in July 2025 with my husband and two kids in a one-bedroom suite. The property was very clean and the grounds were well kept. The bartender and front desk girls were nice, though service depended on which employee you got. Breakfast was horrible. Nothing was kept on heating plates, just left out at room temperature, which is against food safety regulations. The scrambled eggs were cold, the sausages dry and wrinkled, and the juices were like syrup. Only the fruit was fresh. I had to go to the gas station across the road for juice and coffee. One morning, while we were talking with a group in the breakfast area, the cleaning lady asked us to get up so she could clean, even though all the other tables were empty. I was shocked. We got up and left. The night before, I asked for a quilt for the kids, who were sleeping on the pullout sofa. I was told quilts were only for the main beds, and the best they could offer was extra blankets. I couldn't believe this was a Wyndham hotel. I was very disappointed with the service.

The restaurant alone is worth a visit, even if you aren't staying at the hotel. The food was outstanding, and for a private, romantic dinner and drinks, I'd ask for a table at the back by the pool. I also want to thank Mr. Carderon for a great hotel. Given its location, it's one of the finest in the area. We visited Dajabon and Villa Vazquez, and the commute from the hotel was well worth it.

Employees were very friendly and helpful, and the place was clean and well maintained, with a nice pool area and free breakfast. But this Wyndham hotel felt like it was in the middle of nowhere, and the cost was hard to take: I paid 500 for two nights here, while a two-person, three-night stay at the Sheraton in Santo Domingo cost 840 and included a big room with a living room, office, two full bathrooms, and ocean views. The A/C was inside the small room, very loud, and had lights, so I couldn't sleep at all. Montecristi's beaches aren't the best on the island. The only attraction is El Morro, which is privately owned and requires ID just to find out how much they'll charge you to enter. Huge disappointment.

It's a new place. The receptionist was doing the work of three people and still gave us five-star service with a smile. We were short on towels, and she brought them as soon as she could.
