We celebrated our 20th anniversary at Secrets Cap Cana, and Alexis, our butler, was a big reason it felt so special. He handled restaurant bookings, checked in during our stay, and made sure everything was taken care of. We'd ask for him again if we return. The staff around the resort were attentive and friendly, the restaurants all served excellent food, and the evening entertainment was fantastic. Jon Sena brought great energy to the main pool with the entertainment team. We especially liked the Preferred Club's exclusive pool, premium drinks, and excellent butler service, and recommend upgrading. There was some seaweed on the beach, but it's outside the resort's control and didn't affect how much we enjoyed our trip. It's a beautiful, relaxing resort, and we'd gladly return and recommend it.

We left already talking about when to come back, which says a lot. Our stay was one of our best vacations ever, and when we return we'll book the Preferred Club again. Philieep was a highlight: he checked in each morning about the night before, sent the day's activities, and made sure we had what we needed. His professional, attentive care really stayed with us. If you can request a butler, ask for Philieep. The Preferred Bar was conveniently located too, and David made some of the best Old Fashioneds I've ever had. We loved the dining. Every restaurant we tried was excellent, with lots of choice. Portofino was our favorite for dinner, though you can't go wrong with the others. Rosewater became a favorite for breakfast, where we ate almost every morning. Market Café had an impressive buffet selection that changed regularly, so there was always something new. The food was easily the best I've had at an all-inclusive. A cigar boutique near the coffee shop was an unexpected find, with a great selection of authentic premium brands and the craftsmanship to match. I enjoy cigars and only wish I'd brought more home. The property was spotless and clearly cared for. Our room was the cleanest I've ever had at an all-inclusive, and the rest of the resort met the same standard. More than anything, though, the people made the stay. Everyone we met was warm, genuine, and attentive, with a level of care beyond what we'd expected even at a luxury resort. It exceeded every expectation and I'd highly recommend it for a relaxing, first-class vacation.

Secrets Cap Cana gave us an incredible honeymoon, and we'd happily return. Our room was beautiful and housekeeping kept it spotless. What made the trip especially memorable was the team: bartenders and servers looked after us every day. At the walk up pool bar, Sandy, Ariel, Raudi, Jose, Marisol, and Jenitza were kind, attentive, and full of energy. The entertainment team made every day fun too, especially Oliver, Ice Cube, and Rihanna. The one rough patch came on our way home. We booked airfare through Hyatt's bundle and had trouble with the airline partner, American Airlines. It wasn't a resort issue, but Hyatt may want to consider its airline partners to make the whole guest experience smoother.

The tasting was one of the most helpful parts of our wedding planning visit. Samuel from the wedding & events team joined us, and we loved almost everything we tried, which will make choosing next April's wedding menu difficult. We enjoyed talking with them, trying dishes they don't normally get to eat themselves, and getting to know one another. After meeting the photographers and the decor and flowers company, we toured the venues. Dariana had gone beyond our expectations by arranging all of those meetings as well as our wedding planning session. I feel 100x better about the plans now that we know the resort, team members, and vendors, and they know us and our personalities. We came with my fiancé to meet the wedding team, finalize a few plans, tour, and taste food. On arrival we were welcomed with champagne and a cool, damp essential oil towel, a nice touch after traveling. The employees were always smiling and ready to help, and the service was spectacular. Check-in started smoothly, then there was some back and forth about payment already made through the Love at First Site wedding program. I showed proof, and it was sorted out. Dariana arranged the next day's meeting. A man I believe was a concierge or butler walked us to our room, pointed out restaurants and other places, and took time to explain how things worked in the room. Our bags arrived soon afterward, and our concierge Baretto introduced himself. He made sure we had what we wanted and offered to book reservations. He checked in on WhatsApp and found us around the resort too, which we loved. He also arranged a special anniversary turndown with rose petals and chocolates. At checkout, we had another billing issue. I showed the receipt again, and they fixed it after about 5 minutes. We were sad to leave, but excited to return in April 2027 for a full week with family and friends for our wedding.

The property is beautiful, the rooms were very nice, and the grounds were well cared for. Being close to the airport was convenient, and the gated Cap Cana community and security at the resort entrance made us feel safe. Still, the stay at Secrets Cap Cana didn't match the five-star reputation or premium price, and we left disappointed. Management and follow-through were the biggest problems. We raised issues repeatedly and were promised fixes that never came. Before leaving, we spoke with upper management and were told someone would contact us at home. Even after several follow-ups, nobody reached out, so we had to dispute the charges with our credit card company. I've never had hospitality this poor at another all-inclusive. The pool was especially frustrating. There weren't enough chairs or umbrellas for the guests despite sunny weather around 90 degrees every day. We shouldn't have to get up early and compete for shade at these prices. The pool was too warm to cool off in, shade was scarce, restroom access limited, and the multi-level layout made getting around inconvenient. Why were there no stairs to enter or exit by the only swim up bar? Service also seemed to require repeated pushing or cash tips. Requests for simple help, like finding chairs or umbrellas or ordering poolside food from Seaside Grill, often went unanswered until we persisted. We know tips are appreciated, but didn't expect service at an all-inclusive to depend on carrying cash. Other all-inclusive resorts we've visited gave courteous, attentive service consistently to everyone. The food was mediocre, with little to no Dominican food. Day and evening activities were underwhelming, and the beach party we were looking forward to was canceled due to rain and never rescheduled. Drinks were inconsistent too, with the same cocktail tasting completely different depending on when or where we ordered it. An all-inclusive is meant to provide food, drinks, entertainment, and room to relax, and those were the areas that disappointed us most. There were positive parts, but the experience wasn't worth what we paid. Update: We eventually heard from the Chief Concierge, well past the promised deadline, and we aren't sure whether that person is even a manager. The resort acknowledged many of the service failures but offered only a complimentary Preferred Club room upgrade on a future visit. That would mean spending more to return to a resort that had already failed to deliver what we paid for. We spent over five hours of our vacation trying to resolve the problems, then even more time after getting home. The response was deeply disappointing and felt like another missed chance to make things right.
