Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana All-Inclusive Resort

The food was fresh and good, and the rooms smelled clean rather than musty. I saw a little rust here and there, but no mold. With sea salt and humidity, rust is to be expected, no big deal. People who complain about room humidity may not visit resorts often; it's a humid country, so what can you do? Wyndham Altra exceeded my expectations. The staff were great, the rooms were clean, and the amenities looked new and renovated. The beach and pool were both awesome. One thing that could be improved is storage for guests' bags, towels and tongs at the beach, especially at Splash Island water park. Reserving the limited lounge chairs is discouraged, fairly, but guests still need somewhere to leave their basic beach and pool supplies.

This was my first trip outside Canada and my first time at a resort, and I'm so glad we came. The staff were friendly and energetic, and seemed to love their jobs, or were very good at faking it, haha. Food was amazing and there was plenty of it. Drinks were great, with fast service. The pool works perfectly for kids and adults, and there are handy little places to eat and drink along it, so you don't have to go far. We'll come back with our kids. I'm so happy with this resort. We had a relaxing, memorable time at Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana. The atmosphere, facilities and service all made the stay enjoyable. Maireni at the Coco Bar deserves a special thank you. He greeted us with a big smile and great energy whenever we saw him. He was friendly, communicative and funny, and made our time at the bar more fun. We also noticed he treated the guests around us with the same kindness and positive attitude. Team members like Maireni make a real difference. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable!

The grounds were pretty and generally clean and well maintained, and the pool area was especially beautiful. As the day went on, though, the pool got a bit scummy and stained our bathing suits. The room was comfortable and mostly clean, but the toilet ran constantly, which was frustrating and made things feel less polished. Food was one of the bigger disappointments. The buffet, the only breakfast option, was generally poor, repetitive and limited. There weren't many alternatives elsewhere at the resort, so finding good meal choices was often difficult. We managed to eat each day, but the quality and variety fell short of what we expected. Service was mixed. A few employees were very friendly and helpful, going above and beyond, but many others seemed disengaged and unfriendly, especially at the poolside bars. The resort is mostly clean and well kept, but service overall was below expectations. We still had a good trip, though that was more down to us than the resort. It can be enjoyable if food and service aren't priorities.
