Bahia Blanca

The room wasn't clean, and there was no hot water. It felt like a two-star hotel, and I don't recommend it. This was my first and last visit.

The beds were comfortable, the inner linens were clean, and the bathroom had warm water, which was a nice surprise. Bahia Blanca is also in a great location, and the staff were friendly, though they seemed ill equipped. In my case, the front desk made several mistakes, and staff had assured me that some amenities were included when they actually weren't. There was no apology, just an explanation that it was a mistake. Breakfast was another letdown. The kitchen utensils were filthy, we waited almost 50 minutes, and our food arrived cold, though it tasted good. Only five of the eight breakfast tables were in use, and it was clear there wasn't much of a system for running things. It's a shame, because the place is beautiful. Too many disappointments, so I can't recommend this hotel.

The view is spectacular, and the place itself is absolutely beautiful. There are several beaches nearby, including a few hidden ones, plus a Jacuzzi pool where you can watch the sun go down. The pool water was warm one visit and cold the next. The rooms are old but workable, and expensive for Dominicans, though they may be more affordable for foreigners. I found a piece of brillo pad in my food, and the cook joked about it. I'm not sure the kitchen is up to code.

The views are stunning, and the location is ideal, about two minutes from most things, DuDu Lagoon, and between two major beaches. We also had to turn back and stay an extra night because of a tropical storm, and the hotel was very accommodating. I'd stay again. Listening to the waves all night was lovely, and the front desk rep, Jenipher, was always helpful and accommodating. Still, there were a lot of things I didn't expect from such a nice hotel in a small town. There were three of us in a two-bed room, but only two towels, one toilet paper roll, and a tiny trash can. The showerhead was gross and had a lot of buildup, which could be fixed with a good cleaning, so I found it unacceptable. There were very few outlets for phones or other electronics, so I suggest bringing a plug with multiple USB ports. The breakfast servers were nice, but they wrote down our orders and still got something wrong every day. The ladies maintaining the lobby were also shouting about their personal lives at 7:30 AM, and I found it distasteful enough to ask them to lower their voices.
