Las Mariposas

The beautiful garden, full of butterflies, was the real spectacle. The accommodation was comfortable and welcoming too. domingo and his wife were perfect hosts, looking after our needs, suggesting nice beaches, and lending us a scooter so we could get there. Thanks for everything!

We were three people in the two-floor Stella duplex. The accommodation is basic, in the Dominican Republic style, and the host was friendly. The garden is spacious and green, with parking inside, a communal area for sitting and relaxing with friends, and a rooftop balcony with a nice view. The outdoor kitchen was well furnished, the beds were comfortable, the windows had mosquito screens, and there were fans in both rooms plus an AC between them. The internet was good. We had a car, so Playa Galeras was a six-minute drive away. Without one, expect a 32-minute walk. Noise travels easily through the apartment. The neighbor's dogs barked and whined at night and in the morning, and there was also a rooster. The floorboards were loud when someone moved upstairs, and with no door between the upstairs and downstairs bedrooms, just the stairs, you can hear everything. I also saw it listed with free breakfast, but we didn't receive any.

The casita was very clean, and had a hot water heater. The area was nice and quiet once the locals stopped riding motorbikes. It's close to the ocean, with good water pressure. Breakfast was inexpensive and very good, and the Italian host was very pleasant.

The grounds are stunning, with trees, flowers, and amazing views. A beautiful place to stay, with comfy beds and delicious breakfast!
