Fine for a quick stop, though I wouldn’t want to hang around in the room. The bed was comfortable, and at first glance the room seemed clean, but some details were missed, like the wall beside the bed. The bed was pushed into a corner, which isn’t ideal for two people. There’s no safety available, and it’s cash only. Spanish is the only language spoken. On the plus side, the shower had hot water and good pressure, and morning coffee was free.
We ended up in Samana while exploring the DR with my family, and chose this hotel for its good reviews and price. We only stayed one night, but I was pleasantly surprised. The beds were comfortable, the air conditioner worked, and everything looked clean. I pay particular attention to hotel bathrooms, and this one was cleaner than bathrooms I’ve seen in much fancier places, no mold in the grout and no hair left by previous guests. You can walk to “el Malecon” from here. There’s no hotel parking, but we parked right outside, and the overnight staff kept an eye on our vehicle. I’d definitely come back.
The beds stood out: each had a different firmness, so my wife could take the firmer one and I got the softer mattress. Restaurants and the boardwalk are an easy walk away. We went on whale tours, and getting there wasn’t far. It made for a pleasant morning stroll.
We’ll be back. The rooms were clean and air conditioned, with a little fridge for your beer. Right in downtown Samana and close to everything, with a very attentive owner and staff.
