Residence Inn by Marriott Santiago de Los Caballeros

The calm atmosphere and updated decor made this a great place to stay in D.R. My room was very clean, and breakfast was superb. The staff were attentive, always smiling, and on point with the service. It also has a bridge to the hospital. If I could, I’d give it ten stars.

Getting around was easy from here, with quick access to Avenida Circunvalación. It’s next to the city entrance and worked well for reaching wedding and event venues farther away, without staying in the busy center with its terrible traffic. The food was good, too. We enjoyed both breakfast and lunch, and it was convenient and delicious. What really made my weekend, though, was the care from everyone at the property. I travel every weekend, so I’m not easily impressed, but every person made me feel looked after, with warmth, bright personalities, and selfless attention. That goes from the front desk and housekeeping to the lovely young ladies in the 2nd floor restaurant. Manuel especially stood out to me. He seems destined for great things because he clearly wants to make people’s lives better. The hotel itself was pristine. Well done, Marriott. This team will definitely keep me coming back.

The airport was only ten minutes away, which was ideal for us. From the moment we walked into the lobby, the staff greeted us with warm smiles and made us feel welcome. Our room was spotless, comfortable, and well maintained, and at breakfast the staff made sure we had everything we needed to start the day. Everything about the hotel was perfect, and we’ll definitely be back soon.

By 8:30 PM, my room still wasn’t ready. Nobody on staff could give me a reason for the delay, and management seemed absent, almost nonexistent. The staff were reluctant, or perhaps scared, to reach out by phone. I nearly missed the event I’d come to the city for, and it pretty much ruined my weekend.
