I left before my seven day stay was over because the stress and the room conditions were affecting my health. The musty, wet dog smell in the rooms was awful, and with asthma, the mold in the first room was getting to me. They moved me to a slightly better room without mold on the walls, but its AC was loud and barely cooled the place. The internet was spotty, so I used my pocket Wi-Fi, which ate through my data, or went down to the lobby where the hotel connection was stronger. The pool rules were annoying too: food and drinks had to come from their own store or restaurant beside the pool, and outside items weren’t allowed in the pool area. The problems started at check-in on February 27th 1:30 p.m., when I arrived at my scheduled time and the desk woman, who sounded angry and was rude for no reason, told me they were full. She sent me to their sister hotel, Hotel Renace, without offering a ride. I had to walk ten minutes in the hot sun with all my luggage. That place was a dump. There was mold on all the walls, and water dripped from the bathroom ceiling by the lightbulb. I worried I might get electrocuted in the shower. Mosquitoes were in the lobby and my room, the headboard was broken and kept falling until I pushed the bed against the wall, and I thought I saw a bed bug crawling on my shirt. The AC worked well, but there was only a thin sheet, no blanket, so I was freezing all night. I couldn’t sleep, and there wasn’t even a window to look out of. I wanted a stress-free little vacation, but this was worse than the five stars out of 10 I’d seen in the reviews. It should be closed down by the health department or something. The place is cheap, but still not worth the price. If you’re looking for somewhere in Santo Domingo on booking.com, don’t pick this place. Run and don’t look back. I had to find somewhere else before my stay was up. 😔👎🏽

They confirmed my reservation, but when I told the woman at reception that moving me elsewhere wasn’t right and was illegal because I’d paid for a service I wasn’t getting, she kept saying there was no availability. Apparently it’s common for them to transfer guests to another hotel they own, even if you’ve never seen it and don’t know where it is. They also don’t take credit cards. That part is understandable, I guess, since the room is very cheap and most services in the country don’t accept cards.

The price was great, and the service was too. But the room was dirty, with flies in the shower, and there was no water pressure, or sometimes no water at all. The door didn’t feel safe, so I was lucky to be there with my husband. The online pictures don’t match what you see now.

The city location is very good, but the place isn’t worth it. There are too many problems, from cleaning to repairs, and even the running water has no pressure at all. That’s why it’s so extremely cheap.

The night was quiet, and both the day receptionist and the guy on nights spoke perfect English. But I booked a room with AC and it was broken. The bed was the worst ever, and there was no water pressure. Cheap, so you get what you pay for.
