The 17th-floor rooftop bar is a great spot for a sunset drink, with stunning views over the city. I also liked how quiet the rooms were, thanks to the soundproof windows, which matter with Santo Domingo traffic, and there are lots of charging ports. This newer Courtyard in Piantini has sleek rooms, welcoming staff, and Wi-Fi that handled video calls easily. You can walk to a mall, and some of the city's best restaurants and bars are nearby. It's my new go-to in SD.

The rooms were impeccable, and I hope they keep them that way. The coffee in the room was my one small disappointment, since I like it strong in the morning. They do have good coffee in the cafeteria, though, and the sancocho is delicious, so don't miss it. The location is excellent if you want to avoid Santo Doming's crazy traffic, with everything close by. The staff were so friendly and helpful. A woman from Spain, who I think is the Manager, was always walking around, checking that things were okay and making us feel warmly welcomed. At the front desk, Yalkis, Esmeralda, Yerica and Olaine were especially helpful and friendly, as was Maria in security.

This was my worst hotel stay, with the worst staff. I wouldn't recommend it unless you're prepared to have your things stolen and be lied to by hotel staff. There are plenty of nice, reliable hotels nearby. I'd stay far, far away. I'm taking my concerns to Corporate Headquaters.

The rooms were very clean, and there’s an infinity pool on the roof. Too bad it closes already at 7:00 pm.
