Across from a lively park in a nice part of Santo Domingo’s Colonial Zone, this is a good budget option for solo travelers or couples exploring the old city and nearby areas. Most things are walkable, though outside noise can be an issue, so bring earplugs if you’re sensitive to it. Our room was clean and modern, apart from mosquitoes. The staff were incredibly welcoming. They stored our bags before check-in and after checkout, and even let us in a couple of hours early. Breakfast was free, tasty, and authentic. It had the basics we needed.

You’re about five minutes from the main square, with a shop and a few bars nearby. The location is great, though it can get loud at times. Rooms for two are fine, the Wi-Fi works okay, and breakfast is good.

The old townhouse architecture is spectacular, especially the patio in the middle. Our room was clean and modern, and the people working here were so sweet and helpful. You can walk to everything you’d want to see in the old city, so we didn’t need a taxi or car. I loved staying here and only wish our visit had been longer.

The breakfast was nothing special, but everything else was great. The hotel was clean and pleasant, and the location is amazing. I especially appreciated that the air conditioner was clean, with no mold smell or dust. A great choice for a day or two. I’d come back and recommend it.

For the price, this was a satisfactory stay, and the breakfast was simple but good, about what you’d expect in the area. The reception room where it’s served was full of mosquitoes in the morning, though, so I ate quickly and went back to my room. There was no complimentary water bottle, which is common at hotels in the Dominican Republic. Since I arrived late without water, that was awkward. Reception has a dispenser, but you need a container to take more than a glass upstairs. The hotel is in a good spot in the nicest part of the Zona Colonial. My room was okay, nothing fancy. The toilet could use refurbishment, and the AC sits directly above the bed, so cold air blows onto you. The different bedding materials sometimes gave off little sparks. The bathroom soap wasn’t great, but it was okay. I’d read complaints about noise; the doors have no rubber seals or other draft blockers, so they don’t insulate well. That seems common in Santo Domingo.
